Positive Effects of the New Imperialism

Positive effects: Industry was spread to other countries. Medical knowledge was spread, Christianity was spread, ways of growing food was spread. Finding and using natural resources was good for the conquerers, but bad for the land if it was depleted. People became rich (mostly conquerers) and the conquered became poorer and slaves. Europe grew stronger as they took over other lands. Trade expanded, gold and diamonds were discovered and many took advantage of this. Education was taken to new lands and some Africans rose up and fought for their independence. The Suez Canal was built to help with quicker trades. Egypt began to modernize by irrigation and developing industry. There are alot of positive effects but not sure if alot of them are worth it with all of the negative impacts to the cultures that were destroyed.
